Chanteloup Castle was built by the Duke of Choiseul and, with its huge garden in the Loire Valley, formed an impressive and pleasant country house near the Royal Castle of Amboise. The Duke of Choiseul erected a pagoda in Chanteloup Park in honor of his friends, who visited him in his Chanteloup Castle despite the Minister's dishonor. This Chanteloup pagoda is reminiscent of the chinoiserie that was popular in the 18th century at European courts and especially in Versailles. With the destruction of Chanteloup Castle, the pagoda remains the only remnant in the Chanteloup area. This area offers a very nice walk in its large park, with the possibility to take a boat trip. Its proximity to the Royal Castle of Amboise and Clos-Lucé, on the road to the castle of Chenonceau, which is not very far, allows you to combine visits and walks.
