This medieval fortress combines styles with architectural elements not only from the Middle Ages with its keep, drawbridge, moat, and Renaissance as the stairs, but also contemporary art. The Château du Rivau was especially marked by the Beauvau family, since it was offered to the chamberlain of the King of France Charles VII, which allowed him to establish fortifications around the castle.
The stables formerly used by the maid of Orleans, while she was going to liberate the city from the English and then crown the Dauphin in Reims, were further developed by one of the descendants of the François de Beauvau family, captain of François Ier.
Enjoy a beautiful day to discover the whole area by going for a walk in the gardens and the common Rivau, visiting the room of the big house and the other rooms of the castle.
